Haywood Highsmith, a heat forward, has spoken out about the vehicle accident he was in, which resulted in a victim’s leg being partially amputated.
Last Tuesday night, Highsmith was on her way home from Miami’s victory over Orlando at Kaseya Center.
As to the crash report, Highsmith drove five miles per hour over the speed limit while assisting a woman whose car was disabled on the road.
Highsmith lost control of his vehicle and collided with the man standing right behind the stopped vehicle.
While not facing criminal charges, he received a citation for “careless and negligent” driving.
Highsmith expressed his happiness to be back on the court after the Heat defeated the 76ers 109-104 on Wednesday.
Highsmith told the Miami Herald, “Basketball is my peace.” “I wanted to be around my coaches and teammates again so they could boost my energy levels.”
“Obviously, I haven’t had the easiest week or so, but I’m trying to take things day by day and having my team around has really helped.” It has been really beneficial to be around my family, the coaching staff, and everyone else. I am grateful that the Heat family and culture stood by me.
Highsmith went 5-13 from the field in Miami’s victory, recording his second-highest point total of the season along with two steals, two rebounds, and an unusual number of shot attempts by the forward.
That’s the reality, according to Highsmith. “I’m going to keep shooting it because people keep leaving me open.” Thus, it’s okay if that’s the team’s style of play. Whether I’m hitting them or missing, I’m going to keep firing them.
Erik Spoelstra, the coach of the Heat, was undoubtedly pleased with his return showing.
