Elijah Herring, a linebacker for Tennessee, signed up for a transfer on Monday night. Herring thanked his coaches and the University of Tennessee in a social media post before to putting his name up for grabs. Herring still has two seasons left to be eligible.
During his time with the Vols, he played in 25 games, starting eleven of them as a middle linebacker in his sophomore campaign. In his second season with the team, he led Tennessee in tackles with 79, along with a sack and a pass deflection in 2023. He was a member of the Vols’ inaugural signing class under head coach Josh Heupel. Herring was ranked by On3 Industry Rankings as the 749th best talent in the 2022 class.
