Moving through an offseason of ups and downs, news and viewpoints, the Washington Commanders and the NFL as a whole are making adjustments.
The team reports that former cornerback Michael Davis of the Los Angeles Chargers is on his way to the nation’s capital.
After going undrafted in 2017, Davis, 29, played his first seven seasons in the NFL with the Chargers. In his final season in Los Angeles, he tallied 62 tackles along with one interception.
COMMANDERS GET IGBINOGHENE ON MAR 17. Dan Quinn is moving another member of his Dallas Cowboys defense to the nation’s capital.
The Commanders are reportedly signing cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, per ESPN’s John Keim.
TheĀ selected 24-year-olMiami Dolphinsd Igbinoghene in the first round of the 2020 draft. He played three seasons there before being traded to the Cowboys before the end of the regular season.
COMMANDERS RETURN REAVES ON MAR-13 One of the Washington Commanders’ own free agents has been retained.
The Commanders are bringing on Pro Bowl special teams player Jeremy Reaves for a two-year contract, as reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
The first internal free agent the Commanders are bringing back on a new contract is Reaves.
COMMANDERS SIGN CHINN ON MAR-12 The Washington Commanders are adding a player away from their defense after acquiring linebacker Frankie Luvu from the Carolina Panthers.
Former Panthers safety Jeremy Chinn is joining the Commanders on a one-year, $5.1 million contract, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. Luvu, who inked a three-year contract with Washington on Monday, will be rejoining him.
Over the past two seasons, Chinn has had difficulty staying on the field; in 23 games, he has accumulated 100 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one quarterback hit. Chinn looked like he was going to be one of the NFL’s best safety the previous two seasons. In addition to his two interceptions, three forced fumblesātwo of which he recovered for touchdownsāand ten quarterback hits, he had over 100 tackles in just the two seasons combined.
