Talking about obtaining a quarterback through the transfer portal is simple, until you consider the quarterbacks that are out there. It’s a difficult situation. Tyler Buchner was Alabama’s big addition last spring, though there might be one or two more. Payton Thorne, acquired by Auburn from Michigan State, was an average player.

Loveland mentioned the positive things that could be said about Alex Orji, Davis Warren, and Jayden Denegal. There have been whispers that Orji and Warren have been the best quarterbacks in fall camp thus far, according to Chris Balas of The Wolverine, but it’s early as Loveland said. Orji’s running ability and arm talent have been mentioned by multiple coaches and players. He needs to polish his game, but one way or another, he’s going to play a part in the coming season. Orji was on the field against Ohio State and in the College Football Playoff when the Wolverines had J.J. McCarthy, so even
