Throughout the predraft process, former Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright has soared up draft boards. He is regarded by former NFL executives as one of the class’s most “underrated” prospects, and he may go undrafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Wright spoke with “Good Morning Football” on NFL Network on Monday morning about his draft preparation. The hosts asked him if he believes he is “underrated” and what his career’s meaning has been in relation to that term.
“I always walk around with a chip on my shoulder; I feel like I’ve been underrated my whole life,” he said. Nothing new here; it only motivates me to work even harder and keep demonstrating my case. Being the best running back, I have boundless potential.”
Wright’s capacity for home runs is his best quality. During his time at the University of Tennessee, he broke off numerous long runs. His official 40-yard sprint time of 4.38 seconds at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana, provided an explanation for all of those long runs. He laid down how his speed affects his game and had the second-fastest time of any running back in the tournament.
“I think that speed makes a big difference. You just can’t teach speed,” Wright remarked. “It really helped me a lot, just being able to run track and complete long runs,” the author says. Everything revolves around speed, and I also have balance.”
