The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former wide receiver Quez Watkins, who was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Southern Mississippi. The terms of the signing are unknown. Watkins appeared in nine games for the Eagles last season, catching 15 passes on 21 targets for 142 yards and one touchdown. He appeared in all 17 games in both 2021 and 2022, totaling 76 catches for 1,001 yards and four touchdowns in that span. Earlier in the offseason, the Steelers also signed Van Jefferson, who spent the previous season in Atlanta with the Falcons. This is likely the team’s second depth addition at the receiver position.

Watkins, a product of Southern Mississippi, was selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Van Jefferson, who played for the Falcons in Atlanta last season alongside offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, was also signed by the Steelers earlier in the summer.

Van Jefferson, Quez Watkins, Calvin Austin III, and George Pickens make up the Steelers’ wide receivers room at the moment. Renowned veterans Denzel Mims and Marquez Callaway will also be vying for a roster place.
