When the Philadelphia 76ers play the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night, will one of their starters be back in the lineup? After beating the Miami Heat on Monday night, the team couldn’t have been more confident.
Tobias Harris has been battling an ankle issue lately. Harris seemed to roll his ankle after making a poor landing during the Sixers’ March 14 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Harris would not withdraw from the game as a consequence. Rather, he completed his 28-minute shift and ended the game with four rebounds, three assists, and 15 points on 45 percent shooting.
The Sixers hosted the Charlotte Hornets two nights after returning home from a three-day trip. Harris was seen as dubious before to the game. Harris is usually one to persevere through hardship, but this last setback appeared to be a bit too much for him. He thus took a seat opposite the Hornets.
The pattern held on Monday night when the Sixers hosted the Miami Heat. Regarding Wednesday’s away game in Phoenix, Harris’ status as an injured player is still doubtful.
Reports state that Harris planned to travel the West Coast with the Sixers. Nick Nurse and the squad hope to see the veteran forward back sooner rather than later because his injury wasn’t too serious.
This absence streak would be Harris’s longest during the 2023–2024 NBA season if he is unable to receive the go-ahead to play on Wednesday night.
Harris missed two straight games for the second time this year back in early February. The first time was around the end of January. For the Sixers this season, Harris has missed a total of eight games.
Harris plays almost 34 minutes a game on the court when healthy. With 14 shots per game, he has made 49% of his field goals. Harris has performed worse than usual when it comes to his long ball game, connecting on only 34% of his four efforts.
Harris has averaged 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists in 60 games. Even though Harris has always been dependable, his play during the All-Star break has drawn a lot of criticism. Although the Sixers don’t intend to bench Harris anytime soon, they will be hoping for a comeback the next time he gets the floor.
