When the spring arrived, the Tennessee Vols were the program that intrigued the elite 5-star recruit the most.
After the January no contact period, one of the Tennessee Vols’ top 2025 recruiting targets—possibly their top remaining target—stated this week that UT is the program he is most enthusiastic about.
The No. 2 overall prospect in the country and 2025 five-star offensive lineman David Sanders stated to Rivals.com this week that he believes it is “correct” that Tennessee is the program he is most excited about as spring training approaches.
In response to the question of which program, after the no-contact period, he is most excited about, Sanders responded, “I would say that’s about correct.” “Considering how much work they’ve put into finding me over the past year, I think they’ve done the best job of finding me of anyone.”
Sanders said Tennessee has done a “amazing” job recruiting him, and he believes the future is very bright for the Vols, thanks in large part to quarterback Nico Iamaleava and 2025 Vols quarterback commit George MacIntyre.
“They’ve done an amazing job getting to know me as a person, getting to know me as a player, and getting to know my family as well,” Sanders said. “I simply adore every single person inside the program—the general managers, offensive line coaches, receiver coaches, and everyone else—and their entire recruiting strategy has been incredible. It’s been incredible.
The remainder of Sanders’ in-depth remarks regarding his hiring are available on Rivals.com.
Sanders has strong competition for the Vols. Right now, Georgia and Clemson are thought to be Tennessee’s main rivals in this recruitment war. Ohio State, Alabama, South Carolina, and South Carolina are all included.
Sanders is scheduled to visit Tennessee the weekend of April 12 after spending the previous weekend in Georgia.
MacIntyre is anticipated in Knoxville the weekend of Sanders’ impending visit; he is putting in a lot of effort to help the Vols sign Sanders.
Tennessee is quite interested in signing Sanders. However, until December, when the five-star offensive tackle is anticipated to sign, there are still a lot of unanswered questions. Sanders is going to face full court pressure from Georgia and Clemson, so the Vols will have their work cut out for them in this match.
The good news is that Tennessee appears to be among the select few institutions with a realistic chance of securing Sanders. All the Vols coaching staff needs to do is keep strengthening their bond with Sanders and hold out hope. This is a fight that will continue until the early signing time, when pen meets paper.
