The 2023–2024 football season saw superstar Taylor Swift bear the brunt of it because of her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. Carrie Underwood and Jessica Simpson, two celebrities connected to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, shared her sentiments prior to her.
Romo’s romantic life has been a roller coaster, with these two blondes being held responsible for his awful games. Underwood and Romo began dating in 2006. The two went to the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards together before breaking up soon after. Romo played his worst game when they were dating—well, his worst game up until he dated Simpson. Simpson was present in the stands for the December 2007 Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles game that took center stage.
Romo ended his relationship with Simpson in 2009. According to Simpson’s autobiography “Open Book,” the quarterback mistakenly believed Jessica had cheated on him with John Mayer. Romo, of course, made a lot more mistakes on the field after his relationship with Simpson. However, it was entirely her fault while they were dating.
When Taylor Swift began going to NFL games for Travis Kelce, she experienced similar treatment. The 2023–2024 NFL Season began with the Chiefs in trouble. They had dropped six games, and as usual, Swift’s relationship with Kelce was blamed for some of it. Sports analyst Skip Bayless posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying, “It seems like it’s time to label Taylor Swift as a distraction. Dear Patrick Mahomes, what are your thoughts? Reid, Andy? Travis, how about you?”
