A last-minute plan for a rescheduled Championship play-off final has been prepared, which might have an impact on Leeds United.

The Whites are presently chasing automatic promotion, but Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Leicester City will be tough rivals for a top-two finish.

If Daniel Farke’s Leeds team finishes the season in the third to sixth spot, they will advance to the play-offs. Two second-tier teams may have problems because the play-off final is scheduled for May 26, one day after the FA Cup championship match.

If both Leicester and Coventry City make it to the FA Cup final, they will have to deal with the unfeasible situation of playing two games in a single day. Leeds might have faced a problem if Chelsea hadn’t eliminated them from the FA Cup at the end of February.

According to the Mirror, additional days have been added to the calendar in case one or both of the Championship clubs win this matchup. Leeds might possibly have a knock-on impact if Farke’s team made it to Wembley through the play-offs.

Since there is less calendar flexibility due to this year’s Champions League final taking place at the home of English football on June 1, scheduling a suitable time for such a rescheduled game has become more challenging. A week later on June 7, England will play Iceland in a friendly at Wembley.
