Although the deal’s exact financials were not made public, Mosley’s renewal is reportedly for a period of four years.
“ESPN References: Orlando Magic coach Jamahl Mosley has reached an agreement to sign a four-year contract extension that will keep him in the position through the 2027–2028 campaign, amid a significant turnaround of the team. A half-game behind fourth in the East and among the top five defensive teams, Magic is,” Wojnarowski wrote on X, the old Twitter.
Given that the Magic are now in a strong position to qualify for the playoffs with a 37-28 record as of this writing, the contract is undoubtedly well-deserved. With the fourth-seeded New York Knicks only a half-game ahead, they have a chance to move up in the East, where they are currently ranked as the fifth seed.
The Magic beat their previous record, whereby they had a 34-48 record at the end of the previous campaign. Additionally, they have an opportunity to end with a winning record for the first time since 2018–19.
