This summer could bring another hectic transfer window for Coventry City.

The Sky Blues had an incredible 2022–2023 season, therefore it was expected that some of their star players would depart the team since they were not promoted.

Coventry lost Gustavo Hamer and Viktor Gyokeres, and they may experience something same this summer.

Callum O’Hare has been the Championship side’s finest player, and as the weeks pass and he continues to put up impressive displays, it appears teams are beginning to pay attention.

The midfield player’s contract expires in the summer, and he is reportedly holding off on making a decision until he hears from Premier League teams.

One Jake Bidwell

Since joining Coventry City in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer from Swansea City, Jake Bidwell has been a member of the team.

The defender, who made an impression at Brentford before going to QPR, Swansea, and finally the Sky Blues, has been a reliable player in the second division for a number of seasons.

Regardless of the side he has played for, the 30-year-old has been a regular in most seasons. Although that was the case the previous season, Bidwell currently appears to be lower on the Coventry hierarchy.

During the entire Championship season the previous season, Bidwell missed just one game and finished with four assists and one goal.

The left back hasn’t had the same success this season, though, as Coventry strengthened their lineup in the summer by adding Jay Dasilva, a fellow left back, on a free transfer.

As a result of being in and out of the team during the campaign, Bidwell has lost his consistent place in the starting lineup.

Since Bidwell’s contract with the team expires in the summer of 2025, he may decide to depart the Sky Blues this month in order to play regular football.

Dasilva appears to be Mark Robins’ first choice at left back, therefore even though the defender is eager to stay, the team may try to get Bidwell for a fee before he departs for nothing in 2025.

Ben Sheaf, #2Article image:2 players who could follow Callum O'Hare out of Coventry City this summer

Coventry needed someone to step up and take over for the Brazilian after Hamer left the team in the summer.

Ben Sheaf, the midfielder, has undoubtedly accomplished that, as he has grown to be an important member of the team as they aim to place in the top six this year.

The 26-year-old has struggled with injuries this season, but he has started for Coventry when healthy.

Sheaf’s contract with the Championship team expires in the summer of 2026, but there may be renewed interest in the player this summer.

Although there were rumors that Premier League team Luton Town was interested in the player, a transaction never happened.

Although Luton may no longer be interested, other teams might be, and if the Sky Blues are still in the second division, it might be difficult for them to keep the midfield player after this season.

Additionally, Sheaf might contemplate leaving Coventry if O’Hare departs, since the Sky Blues will once again be significantly inferior.
