Jimmy Butler, a forward for the Miami Heat, will forfeit almost $260,000 following his one-game suspension due to an altercation with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Out of the five NBA players punished for their roles in an on-court fight during Friday’s Miami Heat vs. New Orleans game, Jimmy Butler has lost the most money.

While Heat reserve Thomas Bryant and Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado will lose three games for coming off the bench, Butler, teammate Nikola Jovic, and Pelicans player Naji Marshall were all given one-game suspensions.

Butler pays the highest compensation, so he loses the most money. He faces a fine of around $260,000 for his activities.

With 11:19 left in the fourth quarter, Heat center Kevin Love fouled New Orleans’ Zion Williamson, setting off the incident. After that foul, Alvarado and Bryant started arguing, and Butler and Marshall got into a physical altercation. Alvarado, Bryant, Butler, and Marshall were called for technical fouls and removed from the game due to their involvement.

Tonight, the Heat play the Sacramento Kings without Butler, their best player, and without Jokic, a vital reserve. Losses might be significant if Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro don’t step up to the plate. Terry Rozier, a guard, might possibly make a comeback to the starting lineup. Due to a knee injury, he has missed the last three games and is rated as questionable.
