Gary Lineker is incensed about Leicester’s goal denied.
Presenter of Match of the Day and Leicester supporter Gary Lineker took issue with the offside ruling, claiming that Rutter appeared to have controlled it and so played Daka onside.
In the wake, he commented on the podcast The Rest Is Football:
They were leading 1-0 until a horrendous offside call cost them a goal, and as a result, they lost the match.
Though that luck has been coming, Lineker may have a point.
The fact that our game was officiated by a “Premier League referee,” one of the worst we’ve had this season, says a lot.
Craig Pawson found it difficult to make the correct calls, no matter how big or small, and ended up giving Leicester the advantage in the first hour of the match by repeatedly drawing soft fouls to ease Leeds’ pressure.
That being said, he performed just as poorly against Leicester, and it seemed like a bad call to card Ricardo Pereira for a spectacular sliding tackle in the first half.
