Dejounte Murray is still deeply embroiled in transfer rumours, but he doesn’t appear to be phased by them at all. As a matter of fact, it seems that the possibility of him leaving the Atlanta Hawks has ignited a fire beneath him. The 2022 NBA All-Star Murray made two game-winning jumpers in back-to-back games to rescue the Hawks from defeat against the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic.

With the exception of his most recent game-winning three-pointer, Murray appeared to have merely repeated his game-winning action against the Magic on Friday night against the Heat. The 27-year-old guard is clearly confident pulling up for a challenging jump shot to his left, and it makes sense. Ultimately, the Hawks guard argues he has the necessary characteristics to succeed in these kinds of circumstances.

“I never, ever lack confidence in myself. I wanted to win it, I wanted to go home. In his postgame news conference, Murray stated, “And you know, I just feel like I’m built for those moments in a humble way,” according to Bally Sports: Hawks on Twitter (X).

Dejounte Murray may have assumed responsibility for winning the game for himself on multiple occasions, but he has faith in his teammates to execute the necessary play, so it wouldn’t have mattered who made the shot with the game in the balance.

“Having a group of boys trust in me was fantastic, but they are aware that I believe in them before them. If someone else had taken that shot, I would still have faith in my teammates, Murray continued.

Dejounte Murray took on the duty of leading the Hawks to victory over the Heat after Trae Young was out due to sickness, and he succeeded. Additionally, it appeared that head coach Quin Snyder had taken the lesson to heart. Rather than attempting to call a timeout, Snyder signalled to Murray to go all the way, which he accomplished with great success.

What a way to go after hitting two game-winning shots in three days if Murray is really nearing the end of his Hawks career.
