It appeared as though the Boston Celtics had the upper hand over the Golden State Warriors following their victory in Game 3 of the NBA Finals in 2022. They didn’t, though, as the Warriors went on to win the series in the following three games. According to one former Celtic, Stephen Curry seems to have anticipated the team’s downfall.

Juwan Morgan, a former Celtic, shared what Curry said to the team following Game 3 victory.

“As we were sitting there, Curry looked at us and said, ‘Enjoy y’all last win,'” Morgan remarked on Tidal League in a video that warriorsworld’s X account collected. “I think, ‘Us? We lead 2-1. Like, how do you mean? I sat here thinking, “I need to know my ring size.” This was my nighttime worry. “Nah, he ain’t say that,” I think.

It turned out that Curry’s statements were prophetic because that was the Celtics’ final 2022 victory. Curry earned his fourth career championship as a player and the Warriors’ eighth overall as a team with the victory.

Morgan joined the Celtics in the middle of the 2022 campaign. That season, he participated in nine playoff games and one regular season game for the Celtics. He was a part of the transaction that sent Malcolm Brogdon to the Celtics. Since that time, he has not participated in an NBA regular season match.

Draymond Green and Jaylen Brown caught up over the 2024 All-Star Break. Brown gave Green credit for his compliments and said the Celtics weren’t prepared for the 2022 NBA Finals.

According to NBA on TNT’s X account, Brown stated on February 17 that “Draymond does what Draymond does.” “Just applying that energy to the match… Some of those championships wouldn’t have occurred without him on the court. Do you understand what I mean? His offensive and defensive force can be a bit excessive at times, but winning requires it. Draymond is an expert at it

“We weren’t prepared when you reached that level of pure force during our Finals match against each other. However, we will be prepared this time.It remains to be seen if the Celtics will play the Warriors in the championship game. At 43-12, the Celtics hold the best record in the NBA and are seeded first. With a record of 27–26, the Warriors are ranked as the Western Conference’s No. 10 seed. While the Heat would have a steep mountain to climb in order to make a comeback, they managed to accomplish it in 2023.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Warriors had pursued Kelly Olynyk, a former Celtic, among other players. But he also gave the Warriors’ justification for refusing to trade for Olynyk.

In a story published on February 22, Fischer stated, “Kuminga and Wiggins have thrived, side by side, in the Warriors’ revamped lineup — especially now that Draymond Green has returned from a month-long suspension. While Golden State also held serious talks with Utah about acquiring veteran centre Kelly Olynyk, sources said, and engaged Chicago about landing versatile defender Alex Caruso.”
