Voting is open until the second to last day, and they are now worth three times as much. Hit the button, supporters of the Knicks!
In the Knickerbocker universe, another week means another upset and another return of All-Star game votes.
Before this Saturday’s deadline for fan voting, the NBA released the final vote totals. The two New York Knicks who were in the running for a nod, Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson, made the top-10 cut in the East, but they are still far behind their primary rivals for a starting position. If things don’t change soon, they may receive the ultimate rejection.
In less than a month, Brunson will be ranked sixth among ECF guards and Randle ninth among ECF frontcourt players for the 2024 All-Star Game, which will take place in Indianapolis.
While Randle fell one spot, returning to his previous rank of ninth among players at his position, Brunson is in the same slot.
PG Tyrese Haliburton of the Pacers, PG Trae Young of the Hawks, PG Tyrese Maxey of the 76ers, SG Donovan Mitchell of the Cavaliers, and PG Damian Lillard of the Bucks are the key opponents of JB in the eyes of NBA fans worldwide.
Before tomorrow’s final voting deadline, said fans still have two days to continue casting their votes, with each ballot being valued three times today, Friday, January 19.
Fans will receive up to 50% of the total votes cast for All-Star starters, with players and media receiving the remaining 50% of the vote each.
With Bucks PF Giannis Antetokounmpo, Celtics SF Jayson Tatum, and Sixers C Joel Embiid all but guaranteed spots in the starting lineup, Randle was never going to make the starting lineup. Having said that, he now faces the very real risk of skipping the ASW event completely in favour of a few days of Cancun vacation.
If JR wants to be in Indianapolis for the mid-February celebrations, he will have to overcome at least two or three of Kristaps Porzingis, Bam Adebayo, and Paolo Banchero and then rely on coaches and other players around the Association to give him their votes.
But you know what? There is still time for you to help these two New York Knicks living legends, so you better lose no time and go smash that Vote button and cast a ballot filled full of Knickerbocker players before it’s too late Also, East vs. West matchups are making a return next month with no more captain silliness baked into the ASG. Yay! Did I mention you can (should, must) go and Vote? Worth 3x today, deadline tomorrow, don’t miss out!
