Things are heating up even though the NBA trade deadline is still one month away. Dejounte Murray, a guard with the Atlanta Hawks, is one player who may be traded.
The Los Angeles Lakers and the Hawks have reportedly been in contact over a potential deal forĀ Dejounte Murray, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who made this announcement on Friday on NBA Today.
“Dejounte Murray is available for trade by Atlanta.” The backcourt of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray has been given some time. They’re prepared to put it behind them. The player with whom they are most involved in the league is Dejounte Murray, according to Wojnarowski. “The Lakers have spoken with them. They have discussed possible trade proposals with one another. They hope to recoup part of his value. You may therefore assess the Lakers’ worth and ability to compete on the market by looking at their roster.
The Hawks have spoken with a number of other clubs in the league, according to Wojnarowski, but Los Angeles seems to be the early favourite.
In June 2022, the Hawks acquired Jock Landale and Murray from the San Antonio Spurs. They sent the Spurs Danilo Gallinari, a conditional first-round pick in 2023, as well as first-round picks in 2025 and 2027 in return. Also, the two teams exchanged first-round selections in 2026.
Murray moving to Los Angeles does make sense, assuming Atlanta can recover part of its investment from the Lakers. They are only 19ā20 for the season and are in need of some guard support and a spark.
