This spring, a former Georgia Bulldogs player may pay the Tennessee Vols a visit.
This week, recruitment analyst Adam Friedman of Rivals.com mentioned that Thomas Davis Jr., a 2026 four-star linebacker, will be visiting certain schools this spring. And he “possibly” has Tennessee on his list of programs to look into.
“The Rivals250 linebacker is scheduled to visit Clemson on March 9 and is planning visits to Notre Dame, Ohio State, North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia Tech, NC State and possibly Tennessee,” Friedman stated.
The former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Thomas Davis, who was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft and played 16 seasons in the league, including three Pro Bowls, is the father of Davis Jr.
Although the elder Davis is from Georgia, his family has raised in the Charlotte region since he played for the Panthers from 2005 to 2018.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, 6-foot-2, 205-pound Davis Jr. of Matthews, North Carolina, is ranked as the No. 3 linebacker in the country and the No. 5 player in the state. Furthermore, he is ranked as the 2026 recruiting class’s No. 67 overall talent.
Although the Vols aren’t now the front-runners for Davis Jr., his recruitment process is still far from over. Tennessee has the potential to emerge as a significant force in the Georgia tradition if they can bring him to campus this spring.
