Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Vols have entered six players for the NFL Draft this year; by the end of the weekend, we may see most, if not all, of them selected. NFL draft selections of Tennessee football players are not unprecedented. After the first three rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Vols possessed the second-highest number of draft picks.

Jaylen Wright, a running back, is the Tennessee player selected with the highest ranking this year. Some mock drafts have him selected in the middle of the second round, but he is more likely to go in the second or third round.

Cornerback Kamal Hadden is the second-highest rated recruit from Rocky Top, after tight end McCallan Castles and quarterback Joe Milton III. Castles is the least likely to be selected out of the three players, who are all expected to be selected on the third round.

Unless a lot happens, it’s unlikely that a Vol will be selected in the first round of this year’s selection, given the team’s late-first-round need for a running back. Wright would be the only player selected in the first round since he is the only player who is even close to being selected.

Where and when can I watch the draft?
Each year, the NFL Draft begins on Thursday and lasts for three days. The opening round of this year is set for Thursday, April 25, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The second and third rounds will start at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, April 26. We’ll start day three at 12:00 ET on Saturday.

The NFL Draft of 2024 will take place in Motor City.

The NFL Draft this year will have 257 picks. Unless there is a trade for the last choice in the draft, the Chicago Bears will be the first club on the clock and the New York Jets, with pick No. 257, will be the last team on the clock.

Three of the four Vols in this year’s draft have a good chance of being selected because there are 257 picks available. The lone player from Tennessee selected outside of the first 257 players in this year’s draft is Castles. Castles comes in at number 331 on NFL Draft Buzz.
