Tyler Baron, a former defensive end for Tennessee, was extremely effective for the Vols in 2023. Along the way, he recorded 28 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble, making him one of their most reliable run stoppers. Despite his success on Rocky Top, Baron chose to use the winter opportunity to access the NCAA Transfer Portal.
He signed with the Louisville Cardinals after originally committing to the Ole Miss Rebels. Baron chose to reenter the portal as soon as the spring window opened, even though he had spent the spring in Louisville. After leaving Tennessee, he’s had trouble finding a place to call home, but he intends to do so with his next move. Baron may be one season away from a hefty salary due to his NFL potential and attributes.
