On Monday, the Atlanta Hawks pulled off a historic comeback to defeat the Boston Celtics, who were leading the Eastern Conference, 120-118, after trailing by thirty points.
Boston, who were officially announced as the top seed in the Eastern Conference earlier on Monday, looked to be rolling after defeating Atlanta 44–22 in the opening quarter.
Midway in the second quarter, the Boston Celtics jumped out to a 30-point lead, but Atlanta finally woke up and started to cut into the Boston lead.
The Hawks continued their comeback into the second half, cutting the deficit to 34-22 in the third quarter and used that energy to win dramatically in the fourth.
With 24 points, including a game-winning three-pointer with 10 seconds left to give Atlanta a four-point lead and all but seal the victory, De’Andre Hunter led the Hawks in scoring.
Bogdan Bogdanovic led Hunter with 22 points, and Dejounte Murray ended with 19 points, 15 assists, and five rebounds.
Quin Snyder, the coach of the Hawks, commended the Atlanta home audience for their unwavering support in propelling his team to an incredible victory.
Snyder praised the Atlanta fans, saying, “Tonight the way we started the game and the way Boston started, their energy really gave us a lift.”

De’Andre Hunter led the Hawks in scoring with 24 points, including a game-winning three-pointer with 10 seconds remaining to give Atlanta a four-point advantage and almost cement the victory.
Hunter was paced by 22 points from Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Dejounte Murray finished with 19 points, 15 assists, and 5 rebounds.
Hawks coach Quin Snyder thanked the Atlanta home crowd for their resolute support in helping his club pull off an amazing victory.
