Star safety Rod Moore of Michigan football tore his ACL during a spring practice over the weekend, raising serious injury concerns, per several reports.

According to Rivals, the injury looks to have been non-contact in nature.

Moore’s availability for the 2024 football season would be in doubt given that torn ACLs usually take nine to twelve months to heal completely.

Moore, an Ohio native, has started for Michigan for three seasons. During the 2023 season, when the Wolverines won the national championship, he was selected by league coaches for the third team All-Big Ten.

Moore recorded 38 total tackles and two interceptions, including the game-winning one in the regular season finale last November against rival Ohio State.

In addition to 71 combined tackles from the previous season, when he intercepted four passes and broke up seven more, he also had a half-sack, 141 stops, and six picks over his college football career.

Moore made the decision to return to Michigan this season rather than declare for the NFL Draft, but as he recovers from a fresh injury, his immediate future is in doubt.
