An ex-Springboks rugby coach who went into politics became embroiled in the court system after being detained on suspicion of attempted sexual assault and crimen injuria.
The 66-year-old man appeared at the Malmesbury Magistrate’s Court on Friday, and according to Western Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, he was given bail pending additional investigation.
The case has been rescheduled until May 15th in order to facilitate further investigation and evidence collection.
According to the Sexual Offenses Act, the accused person’s identity is kept secret until he enters a plea in court.
