Boston Red Sox Manager Alex Cora Says He Has No Interest in marriage again
Alex Cora, manager of the Boston Red Sox, has stated that he is not interested in taking over as the University of Miami’s next head baseball coach.
On Twitter, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe shared the following information:
The available position at @CanesBaseball has not piqued Alex Cora’s attention. Pitching coach J.D. Arteaga has been with the team since 2003, and he received his support.
Karl Ravech of ESPN tweeted on Thursday, recommending that Miami contact Cora over the open position and speculating as to whether Cora would be receptive. This led to the story being published.
This was what his tweet said:
We regret Gino Dimare’s resignation as University of Miami’s head baseball coach. He was a great man. Do the Canes make a bold move and approach Alex Cora about returning to Coral Gables? close with JD Arteaga, the pitching coach. Large asking price, but would he care?
Even with Cora’s shutdown, Ravech’s question is a legitimate one. Cora did, after all, play for the Hurricanes at Miami and lead them to the College World Series in 1995 and 1996. One could argue that Miami’s closeness to Cora’s native Puerto Rico is also advantageous.
However, Cora is set in his role as Red Sox manager for the time being. The Red Sox are up of the New York Yankees, 1-0, in the top of the fifth inning as of this publishing.
The Red Sox were 5.0 games out of an American League wild card place going into the game and had a 31-32 record overall.
