Breaking news: JJ Redick gives Thunder’s Jalen Williams a “star” hot take…….
The former NBA point guard was quite complimentary of Williams.
In the most recent episode of his podcast “Old Man & The Three,” veteran NBA player JJ Redick gave rookie Oklahoma City Thunder wing Jalen Williams high marks.
“Jalen Williams is the real deal. Additionally, due to Chet’s rookie season—you should be aware that this is only his second year—as well as some of the excitement around Wemby and Chet, Shai, and, to be honest, some of the off-court activities involving Giddy. I won’t say he’s the most underappreciated or underestimated guy, but he’s the best player that goes unnoticed since he plays for Oklahoma City, which doesn’t get many real televised games. This man is pretty good at a little bit of everything.
Fans of the Thunder are aware of Williams’ value to the club. But as the squad continues to garner the national attention that their skill has earned them this season, he will probably win over a lot of new admirers as more people around the country become aware of his abilities.
Jalen Williams: The covert tool used by Thunder?
At 19.2 points per game, Jalen Williams ranks second on the Thunder in scoring. With a 3 point percentage of 44.4%, he is fourth in the NBA. Almost any other club would be recognizing him for his early-career performance, considering he was selected with the 12th overall choice in the 2022 draft. However, the Thunder have so many young players who are having a significant effect that he is often forgotten.
But without Williams’ assistance, the Thunder would not be atop the NBA Western Conference rankings.
Williams is kind of going unnoticed while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has an MVP-caliber season and rookie Chet Holmgren proves he’s the genuine deal after missing the entire season with a fractured foot bone.
