The Lady Vols are aware of where they stand in the NCAA Tournament.
In the Portland 4 Region of March Madness, Tennessee is ranked as the sixth seed.
To begin the tournament, the Lady Vols will take on Green Bay, ranked eleventh. The match will take place in Raleigh, North Carolina, and NC State, the #2 seed, will probably play the game on its home court in the second round.

Two-seed Stanford and seven-seed Iowa State are probable Tennessee’s opponents if they advance to their third consecutive Sweet 16 appearance.
The top three seeds in its region are Utah (five), Gonzaga (four), and Texas (one).
It would be the program’s first Elite Eight since 2016. It would be the first Final Four since taking home the championship in 2008.
In the SEC, the Lady Vols are ranked third overall.
coming off a devastating defeat in the SEC Tournament
Despite not finishing on a positive note, the Lady Vols had a great season finale. Just seconds separated Tennessee from defeating unbeaten and #1-ranked South Carolina before Kamilla Cardoso’s game-winning 3-pointer.
In spite of this, following a rocky start to the season, the Lady Vols appeared to start playing their finest basketball. They ultimately finished 10-6 in the SEC and 19-12 overall. This was good for a conference tie for fourth place.
Tennessee has victories in the SEC Tournament over Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Auburn, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt twice, and Alabama. But it also had losses against Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Florida State, Indiana, Notre Dame, Ohio State, MTSU, Alabama, LSU, and South Carolina (twice).
lowest seeding since 2019
Since the 2019 competition, while Holly Warlick was in charge, Tennessee has received the lowest score possible. After losing to UCLA in their opening game of that tournament, the Lady Vols fired Warlick and hired Kellie Harper.
That being said, under Harper, this seed is now the lowest. Previously, she guided Tennessee to two 4-seeds and a 3-seed.
After two consecutive Sweet 16 appearances, the Lady Vols will face a far more difficult schedule this time around. Harper will need to start the tournament on the road for the first time since the Covid-modified competition.
Harper is 1-3 in her four NCAA Tournament games played away from Knoxville, including two losses to top-seeded teams in the Sweet 16 during her time at Tennessee.
Outside of 2019, the Lady Vols have only received a lower seed once, in 2016, when they were awarded a 7-
