Veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner said that he signed as a free agent with the Commanders because of coaches Ken Norton and Dan Quinn.
Bobby Wagner joined the Washington Commanders during his free agency, and he has since shared with the world why he was drawn to the squad.
Because of his connections to Dan Quinn and linebackers coach Ken Norton, two members of Washington’s new-look coaching staff, Wagner was enticed to the Commanders.
“DQ and Norton were kinda the big things to come and do this,” Wagner stated. “Obviously, I recall many wonderful moments, but I also recall the mentorship and leadership. The main things, really, were how much fun we had.”
When Quinn was the defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, he was his coach. In 2013 and 2014, the Seahawks made two straight trips to the Super Bowl, and Wagner was positive about his football acumen.
“DQ does an amazing job of just putting all the players in the right positions and getting the best outta everybody, and then Norton’s one of my favorite coaches of all time, so that was enough for me,” Wagner stated.
Serving as Seattle’s defensive coordinator or linebackers coach for seven of his twelve seasons, Norton has coached Wagner, guiding him from a rookie to an all-time great.

Right now The seasoned veteran Wagner discussed the benefits he will bring to Washington’s defense. “I feel like I bring a leader, someone that you can depend on, a playmaker somebody that’s an extension of the coaches,” Wagner stated.
General manager Adam Peters and the Commanders’ front office will look like geniuses for assembling a staff that has such strong ties to its players if Wagner can repeat his earlier success, win Quinn, and help lead the team not only back into the playoffs but also to a Super Bowl.
