According to Brian Lewis of The New York Post, the Hornets are ready to bring on another official from Brooklyn’s front office, having appointed Nets deputy general manager Jeff Peterson as their new head of basketball operations.

Lewis reports that Ryan Gisriel will likely take a post under Peterson in the Hornets front office after leaving his role as the Nets’ senior director of basketball and business operations. It is unknown what his title is in Charlotte.

After joining Brooklyn in 2013 as an intern, Gisriel has worked his way up through the ranks, serving in a variety of capacities including director of basketball administration, assistant to the general manager, and coordinator of special projects until being elevated to his present post.

Gisriel’s most recent championship with the Nets, as noted by NetsDaily, was a reflection of his long-standing position as a “middleman” between the team’s business and basketball departments.

According to reports, Gisriel is the second executive that Peterson is bringing to Charlotte. Also rumored to be joining the Hornets as an assistant general manager is Dotun Akinwale Jr., a Hawks executive.
