Banchero wasn’t thrilled with his performance on Saturday night, stating, “I played terrible,” even if his father was furious.
Sick, he managed to finish the game 5-17 for the Magic, scoring 15 points and pulling down five rebounds.
Banchero thanked his Magic teammates in his post-game news conference, saying they showed faith in him even though he played terribly (by his standards) due to sickness.
When the game was on the line, Paolo Banchero said, “It got me emotional. I’ve been feeling horrible for the past couple of days, just battling being sick. for my coaches and teammates to have faith in me, comforting me and assuring me that I will succeed.
Banchero had been doubtful for the Magic against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday before eventually suiting up to play, and he was obviously sick in his postgame interviews.
Mario has witnessed some excellent basketball this season from the Orlando Magic, assuming he watches every one of Banchero’s games. With a 32–25 record, the squad is now ranked sixth in the NBA Eastern Conference. After spending several years in the lottery, they are obviously hoping to make a big splash in the playoffs this year.
The Magic’s next game is on Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks.
