This summer, a Bulgarian international is in the race, with three Championship clubs competing.
Pundit Carlton Palmer has speculated about the possible destination of Bulgaria international Andrian Kraev, who is being eyed by three Championship clubs.
Kraev has been left out of the picture because he has refused to sign a new contract with Levski Sofia, despite offers from Middlesbrough, Hull City, and Coventry City.
Palmer believes Kraev would be better suited at Coventry City because of their style of play and standing in the promotion race right now.
Pundit Carlton Palmer has identified the team that he thinks Bulgaria international Andrian Kraev would be best suited for, out of the three teams vying for his signature.Three Championship teams are keeping an eye on the situation with the out-of-contract midfield player, according to a report from the Bulgarian magazine Sportal.
The 25-year-old, who is presently under contract with Levski Sofia in Bulgaria, is reportedly attracting interest from Middlesbrough, Hull City, and Coventry City.
Palmer thinks one of the three offers Kraev the best chance, but it’s still unclear who will prevail in the competition for his signature. In September 2020, the 25-year-old signed with Bulgarian first-tier team Levski. During his 109 appearances for the Efbet Liga team, he scored seven goals and provided nine assists.
The midfielder has now earned eight caps for his homeland of Bulgaria thanks to his performances for the team and international calls-ups.The midfielder’s contract, as stated by Sportal, expires this summer, and he has declined a new agreement because he wants to consider his possibilities.
Kraev, who is currently training with the reserves and is unlikely to play again before his contract expires, was frozen out of the team by Levski as a result. After weighing his alternatives with Kraev, former England international Palmer thinks moving to the Midlands would be the greatest option for the midfield player.
“Coventry City, Hull, and Middlesbrough are eyeing a move for eight-cap international Andrian Kraev,” he revealed exclusively to Football League World.
“Andrian, an international player for Bulgaria, is not willing to sign a new contract, so these clubs are all keeping an eye on his precarious situation.” Because Kraev won’t sign a new contract, Championship teams are considering a summer transfer for him.”The former Sheffield Wednesday player, who is a defensive-minded midfielder by trade, thinks Kraev may improve the middle of the pitch.
“Clubs hoping to get promoted to the Premier League would do well to add him as an experienced midfield player,” he stated.”At 25, he’s still extremely young, and he has eight caps for his country of origin,”
Palmer thinks Kraev would be a good fit for Sheffield United, following in the footsteps of former Coventry player Gustavo Hamer, who made the switch last summer.
“Hull and Coventry are fighting for play-off spots right now, and Middlesbrough will have a difficult time qualifying,” he said.”Thus, considering how Coventry plays and how Andrian plays for his current club, I believe Andrian would be a good fit for Coventry, especially with players like Hamer, who was previously at Coventry City.”
It won’t be known until the summer whether Kraev reaches the same decision or whether Coventry decides to forward with the purchase.
