Football Insider reports that a number of teams, including Celtic, are monitoring teenage Irish striker Patrick Casey due to his spectacular career.
Charlton Athletic, a team in English League One, is home to the center-forward, who has been frequently observed by the Hoops, Brighton, Union Saint-Gilloise, and Club Brugge. Not only is he in great demand at the club level, but also internationally.
England, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland are all after Casey, who was born in Ireland. His current allegiance is with the latter, having been selected for an under-19 training camp in June 2023.
The eighteen-year-old has an amazing scoring history. He scored an incredible 42 goals for Charlton’s younger teams the previous season, and as of right now in 2023–24, he has 31 goals throughout all competitions.
One of The Valley’s top possibilities to emerge in recent years is said to be young Casey. On New Year’s Day, he made his first appearance for the Addicks first team against Oxford United at home.
His deal with Charlton expires in the summer of 2026, so if the Celtics were to sign the gifted young striker in the summer, they would have to pay a fee. It is unclear if they will, but Casey probably wouldn’t be a signing who steps in right away and fights for a spot in the starting lineup.
