TE David Njoku used social media to criticise a member of the national media who appeared to be doubting the veteran’s future with the team.

David Njoku, a tight end for the Browns, is not new to lambasting the media for their inaccurate analysis. Following Cleveland’s thrilling victory over the Jets in the playoffs on Thursday Night Football, Njoku went after NFL Network’s Adam Rank, who had predicted the team would finish 6-11 in the preseason. That night, the team was at 11-5 and finished 11-6, overcoming an abundance of injuries along the way.”I’m sure everyone doubted us when everybody got hurt,” Njoku remarked following the victory in Week 17. Everyone claimed that we wouldn’t take any action. Adam Rank is a guy that I don’t like. Our destiny is in our own hands. We persevered. We merited that. Although there is much more we can achieve, the boys in this locker room should be proud of that.

Two months later, Njoku found himself criticising Steve Palazzolo of PFF, another member of the media, and bringing up Rank once more. The Miami product responded by claiming he was one of Rank’s disciples after a video clip of Palazzolo implying that Njoku might be a guy the Browns look to cut this offseason went viral on social media. It’s undoubtedly a strange perspective from Palazzolo. primarily because Cleveland has no plans to release Njoku, who showed himself to be one of the most trustworthy tight ends in the NFL this past season. Beyond that, though, it is now almost hard to escape Njoku’s contract.

If Njoku is cut before March 19, the Browns will have to absorb a $19 million dead cap charge. The $11.79 million option bonus also becomes fully guaranteed after that date, so if Cleveland decides to part ways with the 2017 first-round pick, the dead cap hit increases to an enormous $30.8 million.
