Following an incident on Saturday that occurred during their 2-1 victory against Leicester City, Middlesbrough has opened an investigation.
The Middlesbrough Football Club is aware of an incident that occurred during yesterday’s game at Leicester City, according to a statement released by the club on Sunday.
“We are looking into this and collaborating with the appropriate authorities to find the person or people who are responsible.
“We will take the most severe measures to combat racism and all other forms of discriminatory behavior. We have a zero-tolerance policy in place.
“Our club is an inclusive football club where everyone should feel safe and welcome.”
Using evidence from social media, the BBC reports that there was an alleged racist incident in the away end.
