Chet Holmgren was left looking foolish by a highlight from Scoot Henderson.

In spite of his Portland Trail Blazers’ inability to win consistently, rookie combo guard Scoot Henderson has made tremendous growth strides in recent weeks. Henderson’s recent inclusion in the starting lineup for Thursday’s home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves is evidence of the head coach of the Blazers, Chauncey Billups, a former famous NBA point guard, having more faith in the potential of his third-round choice.

Henderson’s efforts this year earned him a spot in the NBA Rising Stars challenge, which is a component of the annual All-Star festivities that are being held in Indianapolis this year. Early in the game, Henderson earned a highlight by dribbling past Walker Kessler of the Utah Jazz and hitting rookie big man Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder with a killer hesitation crossover.

The play may have been only a small part of what made the Blazers select Scoot Henderson with the third overall pick in the previous NBA Draft. Henderson displayed incredible athleticism along with exceptional dexterity and ball handling abilities, which should make him an elite prospect at this level very soon, if he isn’t already.

It has been stated before that Portland does not now view winning games as very vital, therefore it will be crucial for Henderson to keep getting reps and get more confidence on the court.
