Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Delon Wright will be signed by the Miami Heat.

Delon Wright, who is shooting 39.3% from the field and 36.8% from three-point range, has played in 33 games for the Washington Wizards this season. He averages 4.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

But according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, after Wright clears waivers, he will accept a contract buyout with the Wizards and sign a contract with the Miami Heat.

According to Wojnarowski: “Washington Wizards guard Delon Wright’s agent Greg Lawrence tells ESPN that the player has agreed to a contract buyout, which will allow him to sign with the Miami Heat after clearing waivers. An additional trustworthy veteran in the Heat’s lineup.” In addition to playing for the Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, and Memphis Grizzlies, Wright is currently in his tenth season in the league.

In 494 regular season games, he shot 45.3% from the field and 35.4% from three-point range, averaging 7.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. With a 30-25 record through 55 games, the Heat are ranked eighth in the Eastern Conference.

They have a winning run of two games and have gone 6-4 in their previous ten games.

In the last four seasons, the team has advanced to three straight Eastern Conference Finals (including two trips to the NBA Finals).

Wright is probably going to be a big boost to their bench.
