Athletic Bilbao’s star player English teams are showing interest in Alex Berenguer; Wolverhampton and Leicester City are two of such teams.
HITC Football is aware that Alex Berenguer, the star player for Athletic Club, is being pursued by Brentford, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 28-year-old’s contract is up in the summer, and several teams are interested in the adaptable winger who can play a variety of positions.
Berenguer has played all over the field during his career, including winger, wing back, attacking midfielder, and striker.
Teams in Germany, France, and Serie A are also interested in the former Torino player.
Though interest in going to the Premier League is reportedly growing, it is thought that Berenguer is receptive to the idea.
Who is Alex Berenguer?
Spanish native Berenguer rose through the ranks of his hometown team, Osasuna.
With five goals and twelve assists in 84 games, Berenguer established himself as a first-team regular after demonstrating promise in the Osasuna B squad.
In 2017, Torino made a compelling offer that might have been valued up to €7 million (£5 million).
A stipulation in that agreement stated that Osasuna would receive €1.5 million if Torino sold Berenguer to Athletic Club, Osasuna’s rival.
Athletic is limited to signing Basque players, therefore Osasuna may have worried that he might eventually sign with one of their competitors.

Before returning to Spanish football with, you guessed it, Athletic Club in 2020, Berenguer made an impression in Italy, recording 10 goals and 12 assists in 97 games.
In order to recruit Berenguer, Athletic paid up to €12 million (£10 million), while Osasuna got €1.5 million in return.
With 153 appearances, 25 goals, and 18 assists, Berenguer has been an essential player for Athletic; nevertheless, his contract is about to expire, thus he may potentially walk on.
Berenguer is a skilled and adaptable player who may be a good value for Brentford, Palace, Leicester, and Wolves.
