Ahead of Thursday’s deadline, Stiles & Watkins was joined by Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee and Candlestick Chronicles Podcast to discuss trade rumours involving the Kings.
The Kings have not yet taken any action, despite being connected to several players in the Association. According to Biderman, the team is happy with their core and the camaraderie within the locker room.
Biderman stated, “I just don’t know what deal is out there for them that will drastically change who they are.” It’s clear from the landscape that this is not a buyer’s market. Furthermore, Keegan Murray will not be traded by the Kings. I’m not sure what possible transactions make sense now that Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby have moved. Zach LaVine’s season-ending injury simply doesn’t seem to have that difference-maker available for the Kings. They may therefore choose to do nothing and hope that their team may build on its performance from the previous season and make a strong run to the postseason.
