Begley mentions in the same story that New York had a trade deadline pass on Bojan Bogdanovic the previous year. If the Knicks think acquiring the two veterans would be a game-changer, it might serve as a test run for these options.

There has always been big-game hunting in New York. It has a tonne of potential draft money, but it’s unclear if Rose and Co. want to spend a lot of it on guys who are viewed as role players.
This season, Burks, 32, is averaging 12.3 points on 39% three-point shooting. Between 2020 and 22 he was a member of the Knicks, averaging 12.1 points on 41% three-point shooting.
The biggest acquisition would be Bogdanovic. He’d be more expensive too. This season, the 34-year-old wing is averaging 20.2 points on 42% of his long-range shots. He would serve as backup in the event that Julius Randle’s foot ailment necessitates a protracted absence. In a small-ball team with Randle and Anunoby in the frontcourt, he might also be included.
Quentin Grimes is a young player that the Knicks may consider moving. However, it doesn’t seem like they’re ready to deal him just yet. If the Knicks want to make a big splash, Grimes would need to be dealt in addition to Evan Fournier’s contract and draft money.
