According to journalist Tom Barclay, Giovani Lo Celso will miss Spurs’ game against Manchester United this weekend due to a minor hamstring strain.
Tottenham Hotspur have struggled with injuries this season, and Ange Postecoglou has hardly been able to select his strongest XI for the past two months.
Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Cristian Romero, and Pape Sarr have all missed games this season due to injuries, and it appears that every time one player returns to fitness, another replaces him on the injury list.
Giovani Lo Celso is one player who has profited from the squad’s conditioning difficulties, with the Argentine making an impact under Postecoglou. The 27-year-old has two goals and two assists in 12 games this season (Transfermarkt).
Is Giovani Lo Celso injured?
With Maddison still out, Spurs could have used the creative flair of a player like Lo Celso for their trip to Old Trafford this weekend, but it appears they will have to do without him.
Tom Barclay of The Sun reports that the playmaker will miss the forthcoming Premier League game due to a hamstring injury.
Barclay tweeted: “Understand Gio Lo Celso has a hamstring issue, according to Paul O’Keefe, and will most likely miss Manchester United as a precaution. However, there is hope that it will only be for one game. With so many midfielders currently sidelined, it makes reasonable to exercise caution.”

We just can’t catch a break, can we? Fortunately, this appears to be a precaution rather than a long-term problem, but we could have benefited much from Lo Celso’s ingenuity on Sunday. It will now be up to Dejan Kulusevski to create the spark in the middle of the park.
