Newcastle ‘very interested’ in Dutch forward and former Chelsea defender – Reports

According to sources, Newcastle United is’very interested’ in Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee and Barcelona centre-back Andreas Christensen.

According to TuttoBolognaWeb, Newcastle is keeping a close eye on Zirkzee’s good play in Italy, as are Manchester United, AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli.

We disclosed in a previous exclusive that club scouts were following the Dutchman with a view to buying a striker this summer, and publications in Italy believe he’ll be ‘bombarded’ with offers if he maintains his present form in Serie A.

 

 

Then to Spain, where Sport has reported on our purported interest in Christensen, a former Chelsea defender who has spent the last 18 months at the Nou Camp.

The same newspaper linked us with the Danish international in November, and it is believed we are exploring a summer move for the 27-year-old, who is anticipated to be sold to raise finances and assist reorganize Barcelona’s current squad.

So, while we don’t expect to make any January moves for either, as a midfielder and versatile forward appear to be our primary priority this month, they could be worth keeping an eye on if we open our wallets at the end of the season.
